The snow is melting, the robins are returning and your course will soon be open for the season. Consider for a moment that you were probably enjoying your Thanksgiving turkey at about the same time as your last snow mold application (that really was quite a while ago, wasn’t it?). Snow melt, freezing rain, declining fungicide protection and cool temperatures can all conspire to create hospitable conditions for a snow mold outbreak, especially pink snow mold. If you find yourself in need of some additional protection this spring, remember 3336®G Turf and Ornamental Systemic Fungicide. The granular formulation means that you can make an application even in the wettest of springs when soft, moist greens may not be able to bear the weight of a full sprayer. The broad spectrum control means that you are not only getting protection against things like pink snow mold, but other early spring diseases as well. Another great choice for pink snow mold protection is Spectro™ 90WDG Turf and Ornamental Fungicide. Its combination of active ingredients (Thiophanate-methyl and Chlorothalonil) provides both curative and preventive protection against pink snow mold and a whole range of other diseases as well. If gray snow mold is a problem, Endorse® Turf Fungicide is an excellent choice, while also providing protection against cool season brown patch and leaf spot.
