Taking Pythium and Anthracnose by Storm

Alude is Cleary’s solution to prevention of pythium and anthracnose on fine turf. Alude is a unique, stable liquid formulation of the phosphonate class of fungicides that does not contain aluminum like some of the other pythium materials. Since Alude does not contain Aluminum it takes less time to be absorbed by the plant. This provides the plant with protection within hours after application and that protection remains strong for up to 14 days.  The absence of Aluminum also increases the breadth of materials that can be combined with Alude in the spray tank. This can translate to fewer spray applications which means a time and labor savings when you most need it, in the heat of the summer.
There is a distinctive blue dye in Alude that can be readily identified by the applicator. This dye is odor free and non-staining.

Because Alude is a phosphonate, it is a true systemic fungicide. The material will move up and down through out the plant, protecting the plant from root tip to leaf tip. A side benefit of the phosphonate chemical class is the enhancement of root growth. Stronger roots mean stronger, healthier turfgrass plants.

How does it work? Alude stimulates the plant’s own natural defense mechanism. This in turn helps the plant produce more compounds such as phytoalexins and coumarins that allow the plant to protect itself from the onslaught of attach from diseases such as pythium and anthracnose.

In addition to control of pythium and anthracnose, Alude when combined with Protect DF, gives effective control of summer stress complex.  Summer stress complex is a complex of Rhizoctonia and Pythium diseases. For effective control start the application as a preventative spray at two week intervals and repeat as required.
